"The Motown Story"
The 5 dollarplay IS YOUR TICKET to theatre. Our project offers affordable theatrical performances for NYC school aged children and senior citizens. Since Fall 2010 we have performed for approximately 45,000 school aged children and teachers. Through our plays our young audiences are introduced to an alternative for expression and recreation through drama. Our venues provide work for talented, struggling artist who may otherwise not work or not do the work they love. Our plays are exciting, fun filled, and educational.
The Halloween story
Our venues provide theatrical performances which core purpose is to both educate and entertain our audience. Our performances are always done live and include colorful sets, lively music and thought provoking themes. For example, for Black History month we perform a play called “Pathways To Freedom”. This play is about great African Americans who did not allow their circumstances keep them from success. For Woman’s History Month we perform “Woman’s History Month Celebration”. This play is about great women from various ethnic backgrounds who overcame great odds to find success. We always add light humor to our performances to ensure that our audience walks away with the feeling that they had an enjoyable experience and not just a lesson. Since our core audience are school aged children most of our performances are held during the academic school year.
